Leta, the martyr dog

We just lost a family member. Leta died last night. Leta is probably one of our humblest and unassuming dogs. She was the first daughter of Max and her brother Tolits died almost three years ago. The unique characteristic of Leta is her resilience and mansuetude nature in front of adversity. Everything doesn't matter to her but play. She was a high-pitched barker and of the most alert dogs we had, like her father Doglas.

Succession plans

Yesterday was Father’s Day and we cooked spaghetti for tatay because it was his favorite dish. Many people say that I am my father’s son and I couldn’t agree less. I want to retain some of the traits that I got from father and mother but I must discard some. I always reflect with myself on a daily basis to see myself from an upper perspective and check the flaws that I want to polish. Writing is one. And worst is reading. They are gargantuan tasks for me. I once abhorred these two activities which I find unmanly. Writing was straining to the mind while reading was tranquilizing.

Dilapidated memories

The hut that my friend Arnold, Gerald and some friends visit frequently to refuel our tired bodies was now reduced to its skeletal frame.
I am a person who loves to revive the good memories of the past. Like a salmon that goes back to the place they were born to spawn, I yearn to go back to the places that I have fondest memories of. Places that mothered me to become a person that I am now.

When I see cats, I remember Arnold Tanoy. My latest rendezvous with an interesting cat is in UPV-Iloilo. It was a black, mottled cat that I ordinarily call a “Kuring mondo”.
